Elsevier marks twentieth anniversary of Clinical Pharmacology

STM publisher Elsevier marks the twentieth anniversary of Clinical Pharmacology, a leading drug compendium used by thousands of hospitals and pharmacies for easy-to-find answers at the point of care. Clinical Pharmacology was the inspiration of a medical student who was frustrated with existing drug information resources, which were cumbersome and time consuming to use.

Thomson Reuters collaborates with ANVUR to evaluate quality of Italy's research efforts

The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters recently collaborated with the Agenzia Nazionale di Valutazione del sistema Universitario e della Ricerca (ANVUR), Italy's national agency for the evaluation of universities and research centers, for the Valutazione della Qualità della Ricerca (VQR), an exercise to evaluate the quality of the nation's research efforts. The report is the largest-scale evaluation of research in Italy's history.

IHS and Wiley in deal to add Wiley's Premium content to IHS collection of over 90 million technical documents critical to engineers

IHS, a global source of information and analytics, has announced a new partnership agreement with publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The new agreement allows IHS to resell thousands of Wiley's scientific and engineering titles as part of IHS's subscription-based offerings on a limited exclusive basis to its global industrial customers.

BioMed Central launches new journal - Basic and Clinical Andrology

Open access publisher BioMed Central has announced the launch of a new journal - Basic and Clinical Andrology, a continuation of the French journal Andrologie, previously published by Springer. Roger Mieusset, Head of the Male Sterility Centre in the Reproductive Medicine ward at the university public hospital in Toulouse, France, will serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.

Prof. Catherine Otto named US Editor-in-chief of international cardiology title, Heart

Global healthcare knowledge provider BMJ has announced that international cardiology title, Heart, is set to take a new direction as it appoints its first US Editor-in-chief. Catherine Otto, the J Ward Kennedy-Hamilton Endowed Chair in Cardiology, and Professor of Medicine at the University Of Washington School Of Medicine in Seattle, Washington, USA, has been named the new Editor-in-chief of Heart, starting in December.

ARL, AAU and APLU form joint steering group to build federated system for publicly funded research

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL), the Association of American Universities (AAU), and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) have announced the formation of a joint steering group to advance a proposed network of digital repositories at universities, libraries, and other research institutions across the US. The steering group will oversee a feasibility study, guide policy, and explore governance structures necessary for prototyping and implementing the network.

BioOne announces 2014 Collections
