NFAIS webinar to provide annual update on the Google landscape

The US' National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS) will hold a 90 minute webinar from 11:00am - 12:30pm EDST for its annual update on the Google landscape on September 19, 2013. John Blossom, award-winning industry analyst and President, Shore Communications, Inc, will provide updates on Google's major product and platform initiatives and put them into an encompassing context of how Google products are influencing the strategies of publishers and content service providers.

Thieme releases neuroanatomy app

STM publisher Thieme recently announced the launch of the Complete Human Brain iPad app. Building on Dr. Wieslaw Nowinski's pioneering digital atlas, The Human Brain in 1969 Pieces, this sophisticated 3-D app has a simple touchscreen interface that facilitates the learning of neuroanatomy.

British Library and National Library of Singapore partner to digitise Malay manuscripts

The British Library has signed an agreement with the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore to put an extensive range of materials of interest to Singapore online. The agreement was signed by British Library's Chief Executive, Roly Keating, and Elaine Ng, the Chief Executive Officer of the NLB.

SAGE set to publish International Journal of Maritime History

Academic publisher SAGE has announced a partnership with The International Maritime Economic History Association (IMEHA) to publish its flagship journal, the International Journal of Maritime History (IJMH). The first issue of the journal will publish with SAGE in February 2014. The journal will be published four times a year with an additional two supplements in May and November.
