177 universities in Turkey gain access to Scopus and ScienceDirect for next 3 years

STM publisher Elsevier has announced an agreement with the Turkish Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBIM) to provide 177 academic and research institutions in Turkey with access to Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. In addition, access to ScienceDirect, Elsevier's full-text platform for research literature has been extended.

Wiley announces increase in Impact Factors

Publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. has announced a continued increase in the proportion of its journal titles indexed in the Thomson Reuters 2012 Journal Citation Reports (JCR), with 1,192 (about 77 percent) titles now indexed, up from 1,156 in the 2011 JCR. Wiley titles now account for the largest share of journals in 50 categories.

Encyclopedia of Life Open Access Support Project begins next phase with new eligibility criteria

The new phase of the Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) Open Access Support Project (EOASP) started July 1, 2013, with some slight changes in eligibility criteria. The aim of the EOASP project is to increase the data flow into EOL, promulgate the open access publishing model in taxonomy and support and educate next generation of taxonomists in open science principles.
