Elsevier publishes second edition of Molecular Biology as enhanced ePub3 book

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the publication of the second edition of Molecular Biology as an enhanced ePub3 book, available from Apple's iBooks and VitalSource. Written by David Clark and Nanette Pazdernik, the new version is a transformation of traditional print textbook and reference content into a multidimensional digital format that is interactive, engaging and dynamic.

IOP Publishing set to launch three new journals in 2014

IOP Publishing, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Institute of Physics, will introduce three new journals in the field of materials science to its journal publishing programme. The journals are: Translational Materials Research, 2D Materials and Materials Research Express. All three journals will offer open access publishing options and will call for submissions later this year.

McGraw-Hill Education completes acquisition of Tata Group's stake in India joint venture

Digital learning company McGraw-Hill Education has announced the completion of its acquisition of the entirety of shares in Tata McGraw-Hill Education Private Limited, the company's long-existing joint venture with Tata Group. The purchase comes as McGraw-Hill Education increases its focus on providing its educational solutions and services globally. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

OCLC Research scientists co-author second edition of Preservation Metadata report

Library information provider OCLC Research scientist Brian Lavoie and Richard Gartner from King's College London have co-authored the second edition of Preservation Metadata. This second edition focuses on new developments in preservation metadata made possible by the emergence of PREMIS as a de facto international standard.
