Submissions now open for new Genome Biology special issue

Genome Biology, published by open access publisher BioMed Central, is now accepting Research, Method or Software manuscript submissions to be considered for publication in a special issue on "the RBPome", planned for late 2013. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2013.

CARL hails additional budget allocation for research programmes

The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) has stated that it is content to see some notable commitments in the 2013 Economic Action Plan. CARL is reportedly pleased to see an additional $225 million allocated for Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) programmes.

University of Toronto Libraries and National Library of China partner for academic cooperation

Representatives from the University of Toronto Libraries and the National Library of China will sign an agreement for academic cooperation on March 25. The institutions, each of which holds the largest collection in its respective country, have been working together for several years to exchange materials, knowledge and best practices.
