DWPI anniversary marks addition of 50th data source The Intellectual Property (IP) & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced the 50th anniversary of Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI), its flagship, proprietary database that is the world's most trusted source of patent information. These books are part of the SBA project in which books dating right back to 1842 - when the publishing company was founded - are being digitised and made available again for the scientific community. The titles include 52 journals moving to Wiley from other publishers or self-publication, and 14 new titles, of which eight are open access. The titles joining Wiley represent relationships with over 30 societies and associations. The journal will continue to be published under the editorial leadership of Dr. Kattesh V. Katti. The 130 million page database is said to capture coverage from local newspapers throughout North America, the UK and select countries from 1607 to the present. ProQuest will offer libraries the option to purchase a perpetual archive rather than just subscriptions.
