Springer's interdisciplinary OA journal now indexed in Scopus and PubMed Central

STM publisher Springer has announced that its interdisciplinary fully open access journal, SpringerPlus, is now indexed by PubMed Central and Scopus. The journal is part of SpringerOpen, the publisher's portfolio of over 120 open access journals across all areas of science, 14 of which already have an impact factor.

Norway's nationwide library consortium selects Ex Libris Primo

Ex Libris Group has announced that the Norwegian national provider of library services, BIBSYS, has selected Primo for its discovery and delivery solution. BIBSYS is a key supplier of products and services for Norwegian higher education institutions, other research institutions, public administrative institutions, and the National Library of Norway.

Electronic research databases provider EBSCO Publishing has announced that HAN University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands has chosen EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) to provide easier access and increased usage of the institution's resources. The University's decision to go with EDS was strongly influenced by the fact that EDS delivered the content and breadth of coverage they needed.

IET announces new Editors-in-Chief to drive its journals to new heights

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has announced the appointment of two new Editors-in-Chief for two of its academic journals. Professor Christian Rehtanz has been named co-Editor-in-Chief of IET Generation Transmission & Distribution, and Associate Professor Sherali Zeadally has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of IET Wireless Sensor Systems.

Four new publishers to participate in the CLOCKSS Digital Preservation Archive

The CLOCKSS Archive has announced the participation of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME); Cardiometry; Healthy Aging Research; and Stanford University Press. Copyright Clearance Center hosted a forum, named 'A Copyright Clearance Center Roundtable: Open Access Publishing and the Role of Intermediaries.' The day consisted of facilitated discussions preceded by a keynote address. An open access panel made up of experts from publishing and academia discussed various issues.
