Elsevier Foundation announces 2012 grant recipients for Innovative Libraries, New Scholars and Nurse Faculty Programs

The Elsevier Foundation has announced the 2012 grant recipients for the Innovative Libraries in Developing Countries and New Scholars award programmes. In total, $650,000 has been committed to eight institutions worldwide in addition to five ongoing multiyear grants and the Nurse Faculty programme. The Elsevier Foundation is funded by Elsevier, a global provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services.

The London Book Fair announces Korea as Market Focus for 2014

The London Book Fair and The Korean Publishers Association have announced Korea as the Market Focus of The London Book Fair 2014. The launch event at Asia House was attended by The London Book Fair, The Korean Publishers Association and LBF Market Focus strategic partners, the British Council and The Publishers Association of the UK, alongside representatives from UK and Korean publishing industries.

BioMed Central publishes manuscripts in ePUB format

Open access (OA) publisher BioMed Central has announced that the company now publishes manuscripts in ePUB format. This device-neutral format allows readers to view articles on any eReader. The first ePUB files are now available in the Journal of Neuroinflammation.

MedOANet project unveils online tool, Open Access Tracker

MedOANet, a two-year project funded under the Science in Society Programme of the EC 7th Framework Programme, has announced the release of the Open Access Tracker, an online tool. The Tracker draws information from authoritative services such as DOAJ, SHERPA/RoMEO, SHERPA/Juliet, OpenDOAR and ROARMAP.

Thames & Hudson selects CoreSource platform to launch e-book programme

Thames & Hudson has selected Ingram Content Group's digital asset management platform CoreSource to launch its e-book programme. The company will begin distributing front list e-book titles through CoreSource beginning in early 2013. It will add its backlist titles to the platform in stages.
