Elsevier and Russia's Far Eastern Federal University announce collaboration

STM publisher Elsevier has announced its collaboration with the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), the leading University of Russia's Far Eastern Consortium. The 5-year collaboration agreement includes access to ScienceDirect and Scopus for all Consortium members from January 2013 onwards.

Springer launches new journal with the Italian Association of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging

STM publisher Springer has announced the launch of a new journal - Clinical and Translational Imaging: Reviews in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. The bi-monthly publication will be the official journal of the Italian Association of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (AIMN) as of 2013. Prof. Giovanni Lucignani, President of AIMN, will serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the new journal.

SAGE and Royal College of General Practitioners announce publishing agreement

Academic publisher SAGE and the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) have announced a new publishing agreement. Under the deal, SAGE will publish RCGP's journal InnovAiT, a monthly publication edited by Dr Chantal Simon, from January 2013.

RSC to take Gold for Gold open access initiative global in 2013

The RSC is rolling out its 'Gold for Gold' OA initiative worldwide in 2013, following a successful pilot in the UK. 'Gold for Gold' was launched in July this year, as an experiment to support researchers as they begin the funder led transition to Gold OA.

UK-based online publishing services provider Semantico Ltd has won the contract to redesign the OnePetro platform for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). OnePetro is an online library of technical literature for the oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) industry. It contains more than 140,000 documents.
