Elsevier launches new OA journal - Case Studies in Engineering Failure Analysis

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of a new, international, open access journal, Case Studies in Engineering Failure Analysis. The first articles are now available to view online on ScienceDirect. Richard Clegg will serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.

Springer and Portuguese Centro Internacional de Matemática in deal to publish new book series

STM publisher Springer and the Centro Internacional de Matemática (CIM) of Portugal will work together to publish a new book series CIM Series in Mathematical Sciences. The first book will evolve from the international conference 'Mathematics of Energy and Climate Change' which takes place in March 2013 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Nature Communications editors join Macmillan office in Shanghai

Scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group (NPG) has announced that Shanghai is now home to two NPG editors - Dr. Ed Gerstner and Dr. Congcong Huang. This is the first time that the company has based full-time editors in mainland China.

Harvard University Press, Böhlau partner with De Gruyter for PDA distribution model

Two of De Gruyter's publishing partners – Harvard University Press and Böhlau Publishers – will offer their content through De Gruyter Online as part of the PDA distribution model from 2013. PDA is aimed at offering users access to all digital content with charges for actual use alone.
