Elsevier launches new OA journal - Leukemia Research Reports

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of a new open access, online journal - Leukemia Research Reports. The journal will deliver timely information online to all healthcare professionals involved in basic and/or applied clinical research in leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma and other hematologic malignancies.

Four organisations recognised as India's most innovative, named recipients of Thomson Reuters India Innovation Awards 2012

Thomson Reuters has announced that four organisations have been recognised as India's most innovative and named as the recipients of the Thomson Reuters India Innovation Awards 2012. First established in 2007, the Awards recognise the most innovative academic institutions and commercial enterprises headquartered in India for their spirit of innovation in Research & Development (R&D).

SAGE acquires Royal Society of Medicine's journal programme

Academic publisher SAGE has announced a landmark agreement with the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) to acquire its journal programme. With immediate effect, 28 titles formerly published by the Royal Society of Medicine Press will be published by SAGE.

BioMed Central journals accepting manuscripts peer reviewed by Peerage of Science

BioMed Central journals BMC Biology, BMC Ecology, BMC Evolutionary Biology and Frontiers in Zoology are now welcoming manuscripts reviewed through the community peer-review initiative Peerage of Science. By decoupling from journals the process of finding reviews, the founders hope to create a more efficient experience for researchers.

COAR and euroCRIS announce strategic partnership

The World Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) and euroCRIS recently announced a strategic partnership. A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed at the euroCRIS members meeting in Madrid/Spain on November 6, 2012. The partnership will be based on the mutual understanding of the importance of Open Access to research results and the need for appropriate mechanisms for ensuring this.
