Elsevier collaborates with Dutch Fulbright Center to support early career researchers in the Netherlands

STM publisher Elsevier has announced its collaboration with the Dutch division of the Fulbright Center, a bi-national non-profit organisation focused on enhancing the collaboration between the US and the Netherlands in science. The collaboration between Elsevier and the Dutch Fulbright Center aims to provide support and guidance to young researchers in the Netherlands in the broadest sense.

ExPub releases R2 to provide access to ECHA REACH registrations database

EBSCO Publishing's Expert Publishing has unveiled R2, a tool for companies impacted by the EU's Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) Regulations. R2, a search engine, provides integrated access to the Official ECHA REACH Registration Database leveraging the EXPERTIndex to provide relevant search results.

CRKN to terminate national agreement with ACS over new pricing model

The CRKN will terminate the national licence agreement it has held with the ACS since 2001 for its Web Editions and Legacy Archives products. This is owing to fundamental issues with the new pricing model adopted by ACS for its international (non-US) library and consortia customers.

AIP appoints Judith MacManus-Driscoll to lead new OA journal in materials science

AIP Publishing, a division of the American Institute of Physics (AIP), has announced the appointment of Judith MacManus-Driscoll as editor of its new open access, rapid publication journal, APL Materials. Affiliated with AIP’s Applied Physics Letters (APL), APL Materials will build on the history and rich tradition of APL, now celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Boston University Libraries go live with Ex Libris Alma next-generation resource management solution

Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group has announced that Boston University (BU) Libraries, a member of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), has gone live with the Ex Libris Alma next-generation resource management solution. An early adopter of Alma, BU Libraries collaborated closely with Ex Libris to deliver a successful and seamless transition to the cloud-based service.

ACRL seeks new presenters for 'Standards for Libraries in Higher Education' workshop

The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) is accepting applications from prospective new presenters for the workshop 'Planning, Assessing, and Communicating Library Impact: Putting the Standards for Libraries in Higher Education into Action.' The day-long workshop is led by one or two expert presenters at locations across the country.

Aries Systems renames Preprint Manager to ProduXion Manager

Aries Systems, a US-based developer of workflow platforms for scholarly publishers, has renamed its production tracking solution from 'Preprint Manager' to 'ProduXion Manager.' Aries' cloud-based workflow solutions have been adopted by more than 4,800 scholarly journals and are used to process millions of manuscripts.
