Elsevier partners with edX offering interactive study via the web

STM publisher Elsevier has announced plans to provide free content through edX, the online learning initiative founded by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Students who enroll in edX's course 6.002X: Circuits and Electronics will have free access to an online version of the course textbook, Foundations of Analog and Digital Electronic Circuits, written by Anant Agarwal and Jeffrey Lang and published under Elsevier's Morgan Kaufmann imprint.

John Wiley & Sons and The Physiological Society renew publishing partnership

Publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. and The Physiological Society have announced the renewal of their publishing partnership, building on over eight years of collaboration. The renewed partnership will ensure the society's titles, The Journal of Physiology and Experimental Physiology, continue to develop as thought leaders of physiological research.

The Optical Society and Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics partner to launch new journal - Photonics Research

The Optical Society (OSA) has announced a partnership with the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM) and Chinese Laser Press (CLP) to launch a new peer-reviewed, open-access journal. The journal, titled Photonics Research, is a joint publication of SIOM and OSA and is scheduled to publish its first issue in June 2013.
