Landmark Papers on Higgs Boson freely available online on ScienceDirect

Physics Letters B, Elsevier's flagship journal in high energy physics, has announced that the observations of the long-sought Higgs particle, hailed as one of the greatest scientific discoveries of all time, have been published. The papers 'Observation of a new boson at a mass of 125 GeV with the CMS experiment at the LHC' and 'Observation of a new particle in the search for the Standard Model Higgs boson with the ATLAS detector at the LHC' are freely available online on ScienceDirect.

Publisher-plaintiffs to appeal court ruling in Georgia State University copyright case

Bowker and LibraryThing launch BookPsychic - a personal recommender system for libraries

Bibliographic information provider Bowker and LibraryThing have launched BookPsychic, a new concept in readers advisory - a personal recommender system for libraries. BookPsychic is a service within LibraryThing for Libraries, distributed by Bowker, an affiliate of ProQuest. It went live at its first site earlier this month at Maine's Portland Public Library.

Gale to preserve two more collections with Portico

Non-profit electronic archiving service provider Portico has announced the addition of two Gale Digital Collections - Nineteenth Century Collections Online and National Geographic Magazine Archive, 1888-1994 to Portico's D-Collections Service. Portico has already preserved more than 1,380,000 objects and 83,000,000 files from 14 Gale Collections previously committed to the archive.
