Thomson Reuters study reports surge in Middle Eastern trademarks

Thomson CompuMark, a Thomson Reuters Intellectual Property & Science business and global player in trademark searching and brand protection solutions, recently released the results of its study of Middle Eastern trademarks. The findings, which are featured in the Thomson Reuters report, "Trademarks in the Middle East: A New Frontier for Brand Expansion," detail the rise of the Middle East as an emerging hotbed for trademark growth, as both domestic and US companies have begun to work diligently to protect their brands in the region.

ALA releases mobile app for ALA Midwinter Meeting Scheduler

The American Library Association (ALA) has announced that attendees can now plan and keep track of everything while on the go at the 2013 ALA Midwinter Meeting in Seattle. The mobile app for the Scheduler puts all the information people need right at their fingertips, including their existing schedule, list of exhibitors and notes from the full Scheduler site.

South East colleges and universities to benefit from Search25, an online catalogue of renowned institutions and specialist collections

University and research libraries in London and the South East are benefiting from Search25, an online catalogue of world-renowned institutions and specialist collections, as a result of a funding from Jisc. Search25 allows users to access the catalogues from within the M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries, giving their learners greater choice and access to materials.

Healthcare information service provider Wolters Kluwer Health (WK Health) has announced that its ProVation MD software received top ranking in the Clinical Procedure Documentation Category of the 2012 Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Software and Professional Services report. This is the sixth consecutive year that ProVation MD has received the top honour in this category from KLAS.

New Pew Internet report on ebook readers, devices and awareness of ebook services in US public libraries

The Pew Internet has released a report titled 'E-book Reading Jumps; Print Book Reading Declines.' The population of e-book readers is growing. The report notes that in the past year, the number of those who read e-books increased from 16 percent of all Americans ages 16 and older to 23 percent.
