More Search for more news in this Category Search for more news in this Theme Altmetric and Nature receive funding from Google Digital News Innovation Data science company Altmetric and multidisciplinary science journal Nature will receive funding from the Google Digital News Innovation Fund to build a novel tool for measuring the impact of journalism. While it is standard to gauge reader numbers using analytic tools, it is much more difficult to measure these types of 'real-world' impact. To address this, Nature and Altmetric submitted a successful application to the Google Digital News Innovation fund, part of a major Google initiative in Europe to 'help journalism thrive in the digital age'. The preliminary set of two existing online programs, the master's in Criminal Justice and masters in Law Enforcement Intelligence and Analysis, is set to launch in September 2019. A third offering will be added in the autumn of 2020.
