Growing international collaboration not yet enough to halt decline in Japan's research output, reports Nature Index 2019 Japan supplement

The Nature Index 2019 Japan supplement shows that global research performance in Japan continues to fall, but the number of international research partnerships is increasing. Japan's contribution to high-quality scientific research fell by 19.9 percent between January 2012 and October 2018. But efforts to increase international collaboration, seen as one way to address this trend, are paying off. Since 2014, the proportion of articles from journals tracked by the Index with international co-authors originating from Japanese institutions has increased from 46 to 56 percent.

EBSCO Health receives certification of two Option Grid decision aids from Washington State Health Care Authority

EBSCO Health, a provider of evidence-based clinical resources including Option GridTM decision aids, has announced the certification of two decision aids by the Washington State Health Care Authority, Amniocentesis Test for Chromosome Problems: Yes or No? and Down Syndrome Screening Test: Yes or No? At present, Washington is the only state requiring certification for shared decision making content.

All ECS published research available for free during Free the Science Week

The Electrochemical Society (ECS) has announced its third annual Free the Science Week to be held on April 1-7, 2019. ECS will take down the paywall to its entire online collection of published research. For the duration of the week, the ECS Digital Library, which contains over 151,000 scientific articles and abstracts, will be freely accessible to everyone.

The American Journal of Accountable Care names Dennis P. Scanlon as Editor-in-Chief

The American Journal of Accountable Care® (AJAC) has named Dr. Dennis P. Scanlon as editor-in-chief as of the March 2019 issue. Scanlon is a professor of health policy and administration and director of the Center for Health Care and Policy Research at Pennsylvania State University. He has been the associate editor of AJAC since 2015.
