Wiley and Lumina Datamatics partnership to increase discoverability of millions of images from Wiley Online Library

Publisher John Wiley and Sons Inc. and Lumina Datamatics have announced a new partnership that will enable the discovery and legal use of Wiley vast collection of images and figures on Lumina's. Lumina Datamatics will increase the accessibility of critical figures and images found in Wiley's publications, while empowering users to search, identify and clear permission to reuse the most appropriate images for their needs.

Invitation to complete survey on how archives and special collection repositories are being cited in publications

Research Libraries UK, in partnership with The National Archives and Jisc, have recently commissioned TheResearchBase to undertake a commissioned study into the citation of archive and special collection holding repositories within academic publications ('Citation Capture'). As a part of this important research, a survey is being undertaken of archivists, librarians, publishers, and academics regarding how repositories are cited within academic publications.

California Digital Library joins Royal Society Open Access Membership

The California Digital Library (CDL) recently signed on to the Royal Society Open Access Membership, an arrangement under which UC-affiliated authors (from any UC campus, UC Office of the President, or Lawrence Berkeley Lab) are entitled to a 25% discount on the Article Processing Charges (APCs) paid to Royal Society for open access publication during 2018. The discount applies to APCs paid for either type of journal, and there is no limit to the number of times this discount may be used throughout the year.

RedShelf and McGraw-Hill Education announce new access agreement

Digital learning materials provider RedShelf and McGraw-Hill Education, a top learning science company, has announced a new agreement that will help expand their work together on inclusive access programs that increase the affordability of course materials and enhance student engagement. Inclusive access programs allow students to have digital course materials automatically delivered to them on the first day of class or earlier, and significantly reduce costs for students.

State University of New York selects Ex Libris Alma library services platform and Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution

Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the State University of New York (SUNY) has chosen the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution to be used by 61 libraries of the university system. The next-generation Alma platform will replace the Ex Libris Aleph® integrated library system, while the Primo solution will be implemented in place of the various discovery layers that have been in use up to now, including the EBSCO Discovery Service.
