Scientific journal Nature Methods officially retracts contentious CRISPR study

In 2017, a study published in the journal Nature Methods caused controversy in the scientific community after claiming to find over 100 unintended large genetic deletions or insertions related to the CRISPR gene-editing process. The journal has now officially retracted the paper after a thorough review found that the main claims in the study were not sufficiently backed up by data.

Experts in information science and scholarly communication convene at MIT to set research agenda

Forty-five experts from across disciplines gathered at MIT March 19-23 for a week of workshops focused on the most vital issues in information science and scholarly communication. Supported by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the summit on Grand Challenges in Information Sciences and Scholarly Communication aimed to identify critical problems that are solvable within 10 years and which have broad implications across the scholarly community.

Discovery Medicine is an evidence-based, peer-reviewed, open-access, and scholarly biomedical journal indexed in MEDLINE/PubMed by the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
