Thomson Reuters launches Cortellis Data Fusion to address big data challenges

The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced the launch of Cortellis Data Fusion, an addition to the Thomson Reuters Cortellis suite, a comprehensive information solution for drug discovery and development. Cortellis Data Fusion utilises linked data technologies – frameworks that allow content to be shared across applications and enterprise or community boundaries – connecting users with data from internal proprietary systems as well as third-party resources to address Big Data challenges.

Serbian Library Consortium for Coordinated Acquisition gain access to Elsevier's research management and database solutions

STM publisher Elsevier has expanded its collaboration with the Serbian Library Consortium for Coordinated Acquisition (KoBSON). KoBSON members will now have access to Elsevier's journal back file content (research articles published before 1995), a collection of more than 4,000 ebooks and to research performance solution SciVal Spotlight. Existing access to ScienceDirect and Scopus has been extended until 2017.

Lippincott's Nursing Advisor to get usability facelift and new name

Information and point-of-care solutions provider Wolters Kluwer Health has announced that Lippincott's Nursing Advisor is getting a usability facelift and a new, shorter name. Now called "Lippincott Advisor" to better reflect its growing use beyond nursing, the online clinical decision-support solution used at the bedside features a clean, new look and improved navigation and search.

EDP Sciences launches new Open Access imprint, EDP Open

EDP Sciences, a learned-society owned publisher, has announced the launch of EDP Open, a new Open Access imprint. EDP Open provides access to more than 70,000 Open Access scientific articles from across all EDP Sciences' journals and also hundreds of conference proceedings. EDP Open has also launched two new Gold Open Access journals - Manufacturing Review and EPJ Applied Metamaterials.

The Biochemical Society and Portland Press announce participation in the Access to Research initiative

The Biochemical Society and Portland Press Limited have announced their participation in the Access to Research initiative, providing free licensed access to over a quarter of a million journal articles and conference proceedings through participating UK libraries. Access to Research is the result of a unique collaboration between publishers and public libraries, under the leadership of the Publishers Licensing Society, and was launched in response to the Finch Report, 'Accessibility, Sustainability, Excellence: How to expand access to research'.
