NFAIS to host annual conference: Giving Voice to Content, Re-envisioning the Business of Information

The National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS) will convene in Philadelphia for the NFAIS annual conference February 23-25, 2014. Thought leaders from across the country will explore the application of big data techniques, such as data mining, linking, analytics, and metrics, to create smart content, extract new insights, and create new business models that will change information markets and the organisations that serve them.

Frontiers launches new open-access journal - Frontiers in Marine Science

Swiss open-access publisher and research network, Frontiers, part of the Nature Publishing Group family, has announced the launch of its open-access journal: Frontiers in Marine Science. The journal is the latest addition to the 'Frontiers in' journal series and will cover research in marine biogeochemistry, physical oceanography, paleoceanography, marine systematics and taxonomy, marine policy, ocean engineering, conservation, biodiversity and marine ecosystem ecology.

Springer launches new book series International Perspectives in Geography

STM publisher Springer and the Association of Japanese Geographers (AJG) have launched a new English-language book series entitled International Perspectives in Geography: AJG Library.
