Elsevier and National Association of Postgraduate Centers of Economics in Brazil, announce publishing agreement

STM publisher Elsevier has announced a publishing agreement with the National Association of Postgraduate Centers of Economics (ANPEC) in Brazil. Under the deal, Elsevier will publish EconomiA, ANPEC's official academy journal, starting September 2013.

Cell Press journals show significant increases in multiple citation-based measures of impact

Science published in Cell Press journals continues to deliver high impact across the research community as reflected in the measures of citation recently released in the 2012 Journal Citation Reports (JCR) published by Thomson Reuters. Looking across impact factor (IF) and immediacy index as measures of a journal's short-term value as well as 5-year IF and cited half- life as indications of a journal's robustness and longevity, Cell Press journals made significant increases in multiple citation-based measures of impact.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln selects Ex Libris' Rosetta to manage and preserve digital collections

Impact Factor success for open access publisher BioMed Central

Open access publisher BioMed Central has announced that its flagship journal Genome Biology passed a major milestone this week, increasing its Impact Factor to double figures in the Thomson Reuters 2012 Journal Citation Report (JCR). The new Impact Factor of 10.288 confirms its position as the top-ranked journal in BioMed Central's portfolio.

More than one million articles accessed by individuals participating in JSTOR's Register & Read programme

JSTOR, the not-for-profit digital library of thousands of academic journals and other content, has announced that more than one million articles have now been accessed by individuals participating in its free programme, Register & Read. Register & Read participants can read up to three items from the archive every two weeks. Many have read only one work, though about 50,000 users each month return to read more.
