Wolters Kluwer Health has announced that its embedded drug data solution, Medi-Span, is releasing a Controlled Substances File to help healthcare organisations meet mandatory US compliance requirements and to support quality assurance programs. The file data assists pharmacies, payers, EMR/CPOE vendors, and hospitals in adhering to prescribing, dispensing, and reporting requirements by identifying controlled substances schedules at the federal, state, and US territory level.

McGraw-Hill Professional and the Society of Broadcast Engineers to create standard reference handbook for the broadcast engineering field

McGraw-Hill Professional and the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE), the professional organisation of television and radio engineers, have announced a new project to create a standard reference handbook for the broadcast engineering field. NISO publishes recommended practice and technical report on improving OpenURLs through analytics

The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) has announced the publication of a new recommended practice, Improving OpenURLs Through Analytics (IOTA): Recommendations for Link Resolver Providers (NISO RP-21-2013). These recommendations are the result of a three-year study in which millions of OpenURLs were analyzed and a Completeness Index was developed as a means of quantifying OpenURL quality.
