Scope partners with AAPA to provide 'Big Data' services

Scope e-Knowledge Center (Scope) has announced a partnership with the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the US national professional society for physician assistants, to provide big data analytics solutions. Under the deal, Scope's data scientist team will leverage over 250 different types of data sources which will be reviewed and analysed for improved data governance, maintenance of data quality, and to promote better sharing of information.

Elsevier launches EduCode Doc Briefs to assist physicians implement ICD-10

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of EduCode Doc Briefs, an ICD-10 education series designed for physicians and other practitioners. EduCode Doc Briefs is available on its own or with EduCode Clinical Documentation Improvement, another offering in Elsevier's Clinical Documentation solution.

Yale University selects Serials Solutions' Summon discovery service

Serials Solutions, a ProQuest business, has announced that its Summon discovery service has been selected by Yale University to improve access to its distinctive collection, including 15 million volumes and information in all media. Yale University Library is the most recent of six Ivy League schools to adopt the Summon service.

Thomson Innovation enhances intellectual property research, includes full-text patent coverage from Australia

The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced the addition of full-text patent records from the patent office of IP Australia to Thomson Innovation, a patent intelligence and collaboration platform. The addition of Australian content expands Thomson Innovation's coverage beyond the recently added English-translated patent records from Vietnam and Thailand, as well as Malaysian full-text patents.

SSP honours excellence in leadership and volunteerism with its highest awards

The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) has announced the 2013 recipients for its most prestigious awards - the Distinguished Service Award, the SSP Appreciation Award, the Emerging Leader Award, and its newest, the International Contributions Award. These awards recognize outstanding service by individuals in support of the Society's strategic goals and were presented to the recipients at a luncheon last week during the society's 35th Annual Meeting in San Francisco.

G8 science ministers' recommendations on access to research

As preparations were underway in Northern Ireland for the 39th G8 summit, science ministers from G8 nations met with their national science academies to discuss the most pressing issues in research facing scientists worldwide.
