Kno Inc. provides new platform for Elsevier's Pageburst digital books

STM publisher Elsevier has announced that education software company Kno Inc. will provide its latest platform option for one of Elsevier's lines of digital books. Pageburst, which encompasses Elsevier's nursing and health professions books in a digital format, will now offer even more flexibility and user-friendly learning features through the addition of the new Kno platform.

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins expands Lippincott's Nursing Procedures and Skills to include oncology

Healthcare publisher Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, has announced that it has expanded Lippincott's Nursing Procedures and Skills (LNPS) to include oncology, a new category for the popular nursing reference. A total of 50 of the most critical oncology-specific nursing procedures are included, with the first 25 available immediately and the balance to be incorporated by October.

Persée content now searchable via EBSCO Discovery Service

Electronic research databases provider EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO) has announced that Persée content is now available via the EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS). Persée is a programme which was created for the digital publication of scientific journals in the field of the humanities. As a result of a recent agreement with Persée, EBSCO Discovery Service now indexes scientific French journals in the field of humanities.

SAGE, the Royal Society and World Scientific panel discussion at the Beijing International Book Fair 2012

Academic publisher SAGE, The Royal Society and World Scientific will be presenting a panel discussion on 'Publishing models, quality, citations and usage' at the 19th Beijing International Book Fair on August 30, 2012. Scientific and medical publisher Thieme Publishing Group has announced the appointment of Dr. John A. Elefteriades as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Angiology. Dr. Elefteriades is the William W.L. Glenn Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Yale University and Yale New-Haven Hospital and Director of the Center of Thoracic Aortic Disease at Yale.

Maney Publishing announces increased impact factors for Materials Science and Engineering titles

Academic publisher Maney Publishing has announced impressive citation results across its materials science and engineering list. Maney's materials science and engineering collection achieved an average increase in impact factor of 13 percent and also increased total citations. Many journals have citation half-lives in excess of 10 years.
