Scope unveils latest version of ConSCIseT, its unique abstraction solution

Knowledge services company Scope eKnowledge Center (Scope) has announced the launch of Version 1.3 of its unique ConSCIse solution for generating abstracts and keywords for scholarly literature such as books, book chapters, journal articles, patents, conference proceedings, clinical summaries and other documents. ConSCIse automatically extracts keywords from the document based on sophisticated and appropriate statistical and linguistic rules.

Elsevier unveils product literature database solution for Life Science professionals

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of a structured Product Literature Database (PLD) solution for professionals in the life sciences. The PLD solution is a further development of the QUOSA literature management solution and enables a higher level of scalability, automation and usability. QUOSA, a content management and workflow productivity solutions provider, was acquired by Elsevier in January 2012.

Springer extends complimentary access for digital library project in Haiti

STM publisher Springer Science+Business Media will extend the period of free access to its online platform, Springerlink, through 2015 to 15,000 students and researchers in Haiti, as the country continues to rebuild in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake. This donation, initially set to expire in 2013, will provide scientific content from about 2,000 research-level scientific journals.

John Wiley & Sons and the Royal Meteorological Society announce publishing partnership

Publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. has announced a partnership with the Royal Meteorological Society to launch the Geoscience Data Journal as part of the Wiley Open Access publishing programme. The new online-only journal will publish short, earth science data papers cross-linked to datasets that have been deposited in approved data centres and awarded DOIs.

IOP Publishing and Astro Ltd announce publishing partnership

Non-profit scientific publisher Institute of Physics (IOP) Publishing has announced a five-year partnership with Astro Ltd to publish two established journals in the field of laser physics - Laser Physics and Laser Physics Letters.
