Elsevier announces participation in SCOAP3 with journals Physics Letters B and Nuclear Physics B

STM publisher Elsevier has announced its participation in SCOAP3 (Sponsoring Consortium for Open Access Publishing in Particle Physics), a new model for open access publishing. Key SCOAP3 principles are perpetual open access, wide re-use licenses, and reduction and re-direction of subscription fees to centrally cover for article processing charges in journals carrying SCOAP3 content, with no charges to authors.

Thomson Reuters launches latest version of transfer pricing solution

The Intellectual Property and Science division of Thomson Reuters has launched the latest version of its end-to-end transfer pricing solution, Onesource Transfer Pricing. The tool is projected as the first comprehensive software and content suite to address the entire transfer pricing workflow within a corporation.

EBSCO in deal with Elsevier to enhance e-book medical collection available via eBooks on EBSCOhost

Electronic research databases provider EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO) has announced an agreement with STM publisher Elsevier to significantly enhance the e-book medical collection available through eBooks on EBSCOhost. The agreement adds 965 health science titles to EBSCO's medical e-book collection with over 580 of the titles representing coverage from 2010 to the present.

Wiley-Blackwell and the American Geophysical Union announce publishing partnership

Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc, has announced that it has been selected by the American Geophysical Union (AGU), the world's leading society of Earth and space science, as its publishing partner for its portfolio of journals and books. The new partnership will be effective January 2013, subject to completion of a publishing agreement in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding signed last week.

RSC announces £1 million initiative to support British researchers as they begin transition to Gold OA

The Royal Society of Chemistry has announced a £1 million initiative to support British researchers as they begin the transition to Gold Open Access (OA). 'Gold for Gold' is an innovative experiment to support the funder led evolution to Gold OA, by recognising institutes that subscribe to RSC Gold, a premium collection of 37 international journals, databases and magazines offering online access to all published material.

Oxford University Press attains joint ownership of the Journal of Surgical Case Reports

Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) has announced a major new acquisition that will see the publisher take joint ownership of the Journal of Surgical Case Reports. OUP will take 50 percent share in the title from January 2013 in a new long-term collaboration which will continue to strengthen OUP's Medicine collection and its Open Access programme.

CCC announces Annual Copyright License for university hospitals

Licensing solutions provider Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC) has announced its Annual Copyright License for university Hospitals. Developed to meet the content reuse and business needs of university hospitals and their employees, including medical students in clinical training, the license combines the rights and titles of CCC's corporate and academic licenses.
