Frankfurt Book Fair and MEF partner to support Mobile Hot Spot at 2012 Frankfurt trade show

The Frankfurt Book Fair and MEF, the global community for mobile content and commerce, have entered into a co-operative agreement. Under the deal, MEF will be an official partner of the Mobile Hot Spot at the Frankfurt Book Fair, scheduled for October 10 - 14, 2012. The Frankfurt Book Fair will be an official supporting organisation and judge of this year's Meffys Awards.

Elsevier's Scopus now interoperable with the Lattes Platform

STM publisher Elsevier has announced that Scopus is interoperable with the Lattes Platform, Brazil's national database for research and science activity, through a newly developed application. The new Curriculo Lattes Application links Scopus to the Lattes Platform providing easier access to the extensive research author data contained in Curriculo Lattes, a part of the Lattes Platform.

Thomson Reuters' new study tracks current status of research on neglected tropical diseases

The Intellectual Property & Science division of Thomson Reuters has announced the publication of a new study tracking the current status of research on neglected tropical diseases. The Global Research Report Neglected Tropical Diseases analyses research output across countries and fields from 1992-2011 and finds a two-fold increase in published literature focused on a group of diseases identified by the World Health Organization as underserved by public health services.

Cambridge Journals Online syncs with mobile devices

Cambridge University Press has announced that the latest release of new functionality for Cambridge Journals Online (CJO) features a 'Send to Kindle' button for journal articles, plus the facility to twin a mobile device with CJO Mobile (CJOm) to access subscriptions from any location. These features continue a stream of development which began in October 2010 with the launch of CJOm, a mobile-optimised website which also doubles as a low bandwidth access point for developing countries.

University of Hawaii System selects Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solutions

Ex Libris Group has announced that the University of Hawaii System (UH), which consists of 10 universities and colleges, has adopted the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution, the Primo Central Index of scholarly electronic resources the bX Article Recommender, and the SFX OpenURL link resolver. With the Ex Libris Voyager integrated library system already in use, the consortium has added Primo to provide its students and faculty with a superior discovery platform.
