Jisc and Springer Nature renew transformational deal securing OA for UK higher education Jisc and academic publisher Springer Nature have agreed a further 'read and publish' agreement that meets the aims of Plan S and offers researchers a funder compliant route to publishing in hybrid journals. Plan S requires that, from 2020, scientific publications funded by public grants must be published in Open Access journals or platforms. The partnership has its roots in University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto's ambitious agenda to enhance the University's profile as the state's land-grant and flagship research university.
