Elsevier adds Transition to Practice platform to its nursing education offerings

Elsevier, the information analytics business specialising in science and health, has announced the addition of the Transition to Practice platform to its complete nursing education offerings, spanning the nursing career continuum - from the critical transition of a newly graduated nurse from academia to practice through orientation and career advancement. Transition to Practice is built to complement a healthcare organisation's residency or orientation program or to be a standalone transitional program.

Wolters Kluwer helps clinicians to redeem CE/CME credit on UpToDate mobile app

Wolters Kluwer, Health has announced that the clinicians can now manage and redeem their Continuing Medical Education (CME), Continuing Education (CE) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits directly on the UpToDate® mobile app and mobile web. In addition, ABIM-certified physicians can submit CME credits earned using UpToDate to fulfil select Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements from the UpToDate mobile app and mobile web.

SAGE Publishing announces video and data additions to its Research Methods resource

Academic publisher SAGE Publishing has announced the release of SAGE Research Methods Datasets Part 2, a collection of 300 new datasets that demonstrate how-to support for data analysis, and SAGE Research Methods Video: Data Science, Big Data Analytics, and Digital Methods. With these additions, SAGE adds to its growing collection of resources that aid in the facilitation of data source training and data comprehension and analysis.

Cambridge University Press and the University of California enter OA publishing deal

Academic publisher Cambridge University Press and the University of California have entered into a transformative agreement that will advance the global shift toward an open access future for research. The agreement is designed to maintain UC's access to Cambridge's journals, while also supporting open access publishing for UC authors. The partnership is UC's first open access agreement with a major publisher, and Cambridge's first such deal in the Americas.

Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the National Academy of Sciences sign historic agreement

The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) has signed a historic scientific cooperation agreement with The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities (IASH). The purpose of the accord is to benefit outstanding scientists in both countries and to formalise cooperative relations between their scientific communities. Under the terms of the agreement, annual national scientific conferences with the participation of dozens of leading scientists will take place alternately in Israel and the US.

OCLC announces Gwinnett County Public Library as newest early adopter for OCLC Wise

Non-profit global library cooperative OCLC has announced that the Gwinnett County Public Library has signed on to implement OCLC Wise, the first community engagement system for US public libraries. Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL) joins Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Anythink, in Adams County, Colorado, as an early adopter for Wise.
