Springer Nature creates new role to lead on research integrity, appoints Dr Suzanne Farley as Research Integrity Director

Academic research publisher Springer Nature has developed a new position of Research Integrity Director to ensure the growing volume of scientific content being published continues to be rigorously assessed, with robust processes in place to prevent and address research misconduct and breaches of publication ethics. Dr Suzanne Farley has been appointed to this newly created role.

Elsevier partners with Impactstory to make open access articles easier to find on Scopus

Elsevier, the global information analytics business specialising in science and health, has announced a new partnership with Impactstory, a non-profit that creates online tools to make science more open and reusable. As a result of this partnership, researchers will soon be able to find open access content on Scopus more efficiently. Meanwhile, for university research offices, the expansion of OA-identified content in Scopus will enable improved strategic analysis and benchmarking.

Frankfurter Buchmesse appoints Matthäus Cygan as its Director Business Development Trade International

The Frankfurter Buchmesse has announced the appointment of Matthäus Cygan as its Director Business Development Trade International, effective August 1. He will develop strategies for international publishers and devise new products and services for this customer group. He will also supervise rights and licensing activities for the Frankfurt Rights Meeting and Literary Agents & Scouts Centre (LitAg).

Wiley and the National Society of Genetic Counselors announce publishing partnership

Publisher John Wiley and Sons Inc. and the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) have announced a publishing partnership for the Journal of Genetic Counseling. The journal will transition to the Wiley Online Library platform following the publication of the November/December 2018 issue. Journal of Genetic Counseling is a bimonthly online journal for the genetic counselling profession.

Society for Scholarly Publishing seeks mentors and mentees to participate in 2018 Fall Mentorship Program

The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) is now accepting applications for the next cohort of its Mentorship Program. After completion of a successful pilot and launch of the spring 2018 cohort, the SSP Career Development Committee is now seeking potential mentors and mentees to participate in the program for 2018.

OCLC partners with National Library of New Zealand to provide WorldShare Interlibrary Loan services

Non-profit global library cooperative OCLC has extended its partnership with the National Library of New Zealand with an agreement to provide more than 200 New Zealand libraries access to WorldShare Interlibrary Loan (ILL), which connects thousands of libraries around the world. The addition of WorldShare ILL services complements discovery and metadata workflows already managed through OCLC's cloud-based WorldShare platform.
