IOP Publishing has introduced Electronic Structure (EST) as the newest addition to its journal portfolio. EST is a multidisciplinary journal, covering all theoretical and experimental aspects of electronic structure research, including the development of new methods.

Frontiers in Neuroscience announces Vince Calhoun as Chief Editor of Brain Imaging Method

Frontiers in Neuroscience has announced that Vince Calhoun is taking over from Russell A Poldrack and Jean-Baptiste Poline as Specialty Chief Editor for the Brain Imaging Method section. An electrical and biomedical engineer, Calhoun's research mainly focuses on brain imaging applications to study mental illness. He is currently President of The Mind Research Network in Albuquerque, and Distinguished Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of New Mexico.

MIT Press receives grant to conduct environmental scan of OS publishing

The MIT Press has received a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to conduct a landscape analysis and code audit of all known open source (OS) authoring and publishing platforms. By conducting this environmental scan, the MIT Press will be providing a comprehensive and critical analysis of OS book production and hosting systems to the scholarly publishing community.

Dove Medical Press appoints Michael Ueberall as Associate Editor of Journal of Pain Research

Open access publisher Dove Medical Press has appointed Michael Ueberall as a new Associate Editor of the Journal of Pain Research. Ueberall has been one of the most relevant and prolific pain researchers in Europe, publishing close to 200 peer-reviewed articles and invited textbook chapters over the past three decades.

Project MUSE launches redesigned platform

Project MUSE, a provider of digital Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) content, has released its newly-redesigned web presence. The launch is a redesign and re-engineering of MUSE's proprietary platform. The URL structure for all book and journal content in MUSE will remain the same and there will be no need for redirects or updates to DOI links, no impact on institutional usage statistics, nor any need to update proxy configurations.

International booksellers and subscription agents HARRASSOWITZ is offering once again a $1,000 scholarship to attend the Annual Charleston Conference that takes place November 5-9, 2018, in Charleston, SC.
