Springer Nature seeks early adopter institutions and funders to shape new research data services

Springer Nature is rolling out new support services to help the research community manage and share data. Following a successful pilot offering data deposition support to Springer Nature authors, announced in April 2017 and extended to all researchers in January 2018, a wider range of research data services are now being introduced for institutions and funders.

Oxford University Press and Jisc in deal to provide continued access to OUP journals

Academic publisher Oxford University Press and Jisc have reached an agreement to provide Jisc members with continued access to journals published by OUP. This is a two-year deal and will provide members with access to OUP's prestigious journals collection which covers over 340 titles in STM, social sciences, and humanities.

Society for Scholarly Publishing seeks mentors and mentees to participate in 2018 Mentorship Program

The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) is now accepting applications for the next cohort of its Mentorship Program. After completion of a successful pilot ending in November 2017, the SSP Career Development Committee is now seeking potential mentors and mentees to participate in the program for 2018. This program is ideal for professionals at all career levels to develop new relationships, share experiences, and learn from others outside their organisations by connecting with a mentor.

Frontiers and the Helmholtz Association in deal to expand OA publishing agreement

Frontiers and the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres (Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren) have established an agreement entailing the inclusion of three new members of the Helmholtz Association in an agreement on open access publishing. Building on an agreement established in 2015 comprising a consortium of then nine member institutions of the Helmholtz Association, Frontiers and the Helmholtz Association have now agreed on the expansion of this consortium to include three further member institutions.
