 John Adams elected chair of the American Chemical Society's board of directors |
Dr. John E. Adams has been elected chair of the board of directors of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the world's largest scientific society. As chair of the board, Adams will preside over board and executive committee meetings, oversee the performance of the chief executive officer, appoint chairs and members of board committees and task forces, and ensure that strategic planning and evaluation of progress toward strategic goals occur, among other duties.

 Frontiers and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin form open access publishing agreement |
The library of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU Berlin) has entered an institutional agreement with Frontiers whereby affiliated corresponding authors publishing in any of the (currently 60) Frontiers journals receive a 5% discount on the APC. The discount is applied to the net APC, i.e. the APC, which would otherwise be payable after deduction of any other discounts.
