FinELib consortium and Elsevier in deal for subscription access and open access publishing

The FinELib consortium and Elsevier have signed an agreement making Elsevier's globally published research articles available to Finnish academic institutions, while providing Finnish researches with incentives to publish open access if they so choose. The three-year contract applies to 13 Finnish universities, 11 research institutions and 11 universities of applied sciences, and grants subscription access to around 1,850 journals on Elsevier's ScienceDirect e-platform.

Association of Health Care Journalists partners with Wiley to provide member access to health science research

The Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ) has enhanced its partnership with global research and learning company, John Wiley and Sons Inc., to provide members with access to the full collection of journals published on Wiley Online Library. AHCJ members can now read 6 million articles from more than 1,500 journals including Cochrane Library, Cancer, the Journal of the American Heart Association, and more.

The American Psychological Association (APA) has released Journal Article Reporting Standards (JARS) for researchers seeking to publish in scholarly journals. The standards are specific to psychological research and offer guidelines on the information needed in a research article to ensure that the elements included are comprehensible and that the study could be replicated.

ACCUCOMS to represent NEJM in Poland and Turkey

The NEJM Group, publisher of premier medical resources for research, education and professional practice, is expanding its presence globally. To facilitate this goal, NEJM has now entered into a new agreement with ACCUCOMS whereby the latter will represent the publisher's site license products in Poland and Turkey (in addition to existing representation agreements in France, Germany and Italy).

Enago launches Open Access Journal Finder enabling research scholars find authentic OA journals relevant to their research objectives and manuscripts

Editing and publication support services provider Enago has announced the worldwide release of Open Access Journal Finder (OAJF) that aims at enabling research scholars to find open access journals relevant to their manuscript. OAJF uses a validated journal index provided by Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) – the most trusted non-predatory open access journal directory. The free journal finder indexes over 10,700 pre-vetted journals and allows researchers to compare their paper with over 2.7 million articles and counting.

Three South African Universities go live with Ex Libris Alma and Primo

Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, the University of Cape Town, and the University of the Western Cape are now operational with the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Primo® discovery and delivery solution. They join Stellenbosch University, the first university in Africa to choose Alma, which went live in early 2017.
