Elsevier and Times Higher Education (THE) extend partnership in multi-year agreement

Elsevier and Times Higher Education (THE), the data provider underpinning university excellence in every continent across the world, have announced their extended partnership in a multi-year agreement. This will see THE draw on Elsevier's Scopus data to power its flagship World University Rankings and derived rankings, including the Asia University Rankings, BRICS & Emerging Economies, World Reputation Rankings, Young University Rankings, US College Rankings, Japan University Rankings, and Latin America Rankings.

University College Dublin to use OCLC Sustainable Collection Services to transform library collections

OCLC has announced that University College Dublin (UCD), one of Europe's leading research-intensive universities, will use OCLC Sustainable Collection Services (SCS) to tackle collection management challenges as it redefines its library services and facilities. UCD is currently ranked within the top one percent of institutions world-wide.

Board of Directors of the Canadian Research Knowledge Network announce re-appointment of Clare Appavoo for five-year term

The Board of Directors of the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) has announced the re-appointment of Clare Appavoo as the organisation's Executive Director for a further five year term, effective January 1, 2018. Since joining CRKN in December 2012, Clare has proven to be a strong leader, with a deep knowledge of the library sector, leveraging her ability to create and maintain relationships within the consortia and in the broader library and heritage sectors.

Pensoft integrates its journals with Catalogue of Life

Scholarly publisher Pensoft has implemented a new integration with the global organisation Catalogue of Life (CoL), so that it joins in the effort to encourage authors publishing global taxonomic review in any of the publisher's journals to upload their taxonomic contributions to the database. Whenever authors submit a manuscript containing a world revision or checklist of a taxon to a Pensoft journal, they are offered the possibility to upload their datasets in CoL-compliant format, so that they can contribute to CoL, gain more visibility and credit for their work, and support future research and conservation initiatives.
