Thomson Reuters revises HCR methodology to refine processes for identifying world's most highly-cited authors and institutions

The IP & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced revisions to its Highly Cited Researchers (HCR) methodology to refine its processes for identifying the world's most highly-cited authors and institutions. Thomson Reuters gathered industry input and updated its methodology, while the release of any new designations were frozen, to ensure the greatest level of accuracy in its list.

Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine and Microbial Biotechnology to publish under OA model

Publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. has announced that the Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine and Microbial Biotechnology have joined the Wiley Open Access publishing programme. All articles in these two journals are now open access and free to view, download and share.

SAGE to study library value in the developing world

Academic publisher SAGE is conducting a research study to investigate library value in the developing world. The project, 'Library Value in the Developing World' will investigate the value of academic libraries for teaching and research staff at twelve institutions selected from countries classified by the World Bank as low income and middle income economies.
