Geological maps from SEG now discoverable and downloadable through Elsevier's Geofacets research tool

STM Publisher Elsevier and the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG) have announced the inclusion of maps from SEG's flagship Economic Geology journal into Geofacets, Elsevier's research tool for geoscientists working in exploration. The joint effort means that geoscientists in the metals and mining, and oil and gas industries can now access over 250,000 maps via Geofacets.

JBI's EBP Management and Assessment tools made available via Ovid

Wolters Kluwer Health's Ovid platform now supports healthcare institutions who want to attain the Joanna Briggs Institute's Endorsement programme. The addition of JBI's EBP Management and Assessment tools on Ovid is seen to make it easier for institutions to facilitate the adoption of their EBP practice.

NISO and OAI release draft for comments of ResourceSync Framework Specification

The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) and the Open Archives Initiative (OAI) has announced the release of a beta draft for comments of the ResourceSync Framework Specification for the web detailing various capabilities that a server can implement to allow third-party systems to remain synchronized with its evolving resources. Feedback to this version of the specification is solicited and can be shared by March 15, 2013 on the ResourceSync Google Group.

OUP adds British Computing Society's Interacting with Computers journal to computer science portfolio

Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) has announced that it will publish the journal, Interacting with Computers (IwC), on behalf of the British Computing Society (BCS). OUP currently publishes both The Computer Journal and ITNOW on behalf of BCS.

ICIS to produce NACD's Chemical Distributor magazine

The National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) and petrochemical market information provider ICIS have announced a new partnership. Under the deal, ICIS will produce NACD's Chemical Distributor magazine, beginning February 2013. ICIS will enhance the editorial and production elements of the magazine while maintaining its focus on issues pertinent to the chemical distribution industry as a whole.

Robert Lanza named Editor-in-Chief of BioResearch Open Access journal

Publisher Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. has announced the appointment of Dr. Robert Lanza as Editor-in-Chief of BioResearch Open Access, effective immediately. Dr. Jane Taylor, of the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine, University of Edinburgh, will continue in her role as Editor.
