Springer Nature Group has signed up to The Valuable 500, a global movement working to put disability inclusion on the business leadership agenda, marking another step in the development of its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategy. The Valuable 500 is the only global CEO community dedicated to radically transforming the business system across the whole supply chain for the benefit of all those with a disability.
NISO published Recommended Practice on Reproducibility Badging and Definitions
The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) has announced the publication of its Recommended Practice, RP-31-2021, Reproducibility Badging and Definitions. Developed by the NISO Taxonomy, Definitions, and Recognition Badging Scheme Working Group, the new Recommended Practice provides a set of recognition standards that can be deployed across scholarly publishing outputs to easily recognise and reward the sharing of data and methods.
SPARC Europe's new strategy continues to strive to make Open research and education the default for the Higher Education community, research, education, industry, and society as a whole. SPARC seeks to develop a more equitable, diverse, sustainable and Open Science and Education ecosystem. SPARC will expand its advocacy efforts for a more Open Europe and continue necessary international and national policy development. SPARC will also expand activities in the area of reimagining the way that Open research is rewarded and incentivised.
The University of Southern Indiana partners with TIND and EBSCO Information Services to improve the Library's research experience
TIND and EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) have announced that the University of Southern Indiana (USI) has selected the TIND Integrated Library System (TIND ILS), migrating from Ex Libris' Voyager system and will also transition its Primo discovery layer to EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS). The university will be able to use EDS with TIND ILS for real-time holdings information and integrate with GOBI and Harrassowitz, leveraging the TIND ILS real-time acquisition APIs.
