European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology extends publishing partnership with Wiley
The European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) and John Wiley & Sons Inc., a global leader in research and education, have expanded their publishing partnership to include EAACI's official open access journal Clinical and Translational Allergy (CTA) alongside their other publications, Allergy and Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology, as of January 2021.
SSP launched Solutions Source for Scholarly Communications
In October 2020, SSP launched a new searchable industry directory, Solutions Source for Scholarly Communications. Solutions Source is a public resource, answering a compelling need from the scholarly publishing and communications community for a definitive resource of specialised service providers, freelance talent, useful content, and industry events.
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the nonprofit publisher of the six Science family journals, is announcing an update to its terms of open access (OA) publication. On a trial basis, AAAS will allow authors funded by cOAlition S organisations to place a CC BY or a CC BY-ND license on their accepted manuscripts. AAAS has long held green OA policies for all of its subscription-based journals, in addition to facilitating OA publication through its gold open access journal Science Advances.
SPARC Africa partners with AfLIA to advance open sharing of knowledge and research
SPARC Africa has partnered with African Library & Information Associations & Institutions (AfLIA) in a new effort to advance the open sharing of knowledge and research on the continent. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed in December 2020 to formalise the partnership. The MOU sets up SPARC Africa operations as a section within AfLIA, a nonprofit organisation for libraries and librarians headquartered in Ghana with 141 member institutions and associations.
Diamond technology breakthroughs to be published in new Open Access journal
A new Open Access journal is to be the home for the latest in high-quality, peer-reviewed research on diamond technology breakthroughs, following a new agreement between Taylor & Francis and scientific and technological enterprise Zhengzhou Research Institute for Abrasives & Grinding Co. Ltd. Covering all aspects of diamond research, from the outset of their discovery to their usage across a multitude of disciplines such as healthcare and aerospace, Functional Diamond will publish high-impact papers on the latest technology innovations in diamond-based materials, structures and composites.
Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. and Max Planck Digital Library enter into Read & Publish agreement
Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., publishers and the Max Planck Digital Library have entered into a three-year Read and Publish agreement. Covering all Mary Ann Leibert, Inc. journals previously subscribed, the transformative agreement covers the cost for open access publishing of all articles by corresponding authors affiliated with the Max Planck Society, eliminating Article Processing Charges (APCs) for authors. In addition, researchers at all Max Planck Institutes will have full access to licensed Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. journal content.
Dr. Juan Franco as new Editor-in-Chief for BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine
Dr. Juan Franco has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine, one of more than 70 specialist journals published by BMJ. Dr. Franco succeeds Carl Heneghan, Professor of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) and Director of the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine (CEBM) at Oxford University's Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, who has been Editor-in-Chief since June 2017.
