Web of Science Group and IOP Publishing partner to introduce industry's first cross-publisher, scalable transparent peer review workflows

Publons and ScholarOne, both part of the Web of Science Group (a Clarivate Analytics company), have entered into a new partnership with IOP Publishing to introduce the industry's first cross-publisher, scalable transparent peer review workflows across some of their leading journals in the physical sciences and beyond. Transparent peer review shows the complete peer review process from initial review to final decision, and has gained popularity with authors, reviewers and editors alike in recent years.

Cambridge University Press' new journal to explore the impact of data science on engineering

Cambridge University Press has announced a new open access journal that will explore the transformative effect of data science on engineering. Launched this week with support from global charity Lloyd's Register Foundation, Data-Centric Engineering will look at how the revolution in sensing, measurement, and data capture is driving the discovery of new materials, and new methods of manufacture, operation, control and construction.

Rush Holt retires from AAAS, Alan Leshner named acting CEO

Earlier this year, Rush D. Holt, chief executive officer of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and executive publisher of the Science family of journals, announced plans to retire. Holt has decided to retire by September 1 and will be taking accrued vacation leave until that time. In order to ensure a smooth transition, the AAAS Board has named Alan Leshner as Acting CEO of AAAS.

Journal of Alzheimer's Disease and Advanced Continuing Education Association partner to launch new CME article series

The Journal of Alzheimer's Disease (JAD) has announced a new partnership with the Advanced Continuing Education Association (ACEA) to provide a new series of fully accredited continuing medical education (CME) journal articles. The program, accredited under the ACCME and open to US and Canadian physicians, launched with 10 landmark articles published in JAD, each with a corresponding CME post-test providing 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM.
