Elsevier launches OA journal - Physics Open

Elsevier, the global information analytics business specialising in science and health, is launching a novel broad scope open access journal, covering all areas of physics and related interdisciplinary areas - be that fundamental or applied. With multiple points of submission, authors will access a novel editorial model with experienced editors, ensuring their paper is published swiftly with a maximum of visibility through the gold open access route. The journal is open for submissions as of May 21, 2019.

SAE International brings together public and private partners to address mobility data-sharing principles

SAE International®, a global mobility standards developer, has announced plans to form a consortium to develop a framework of best practices to support effective and secure mobility data sharing. This new consortium will fill a critical need by providing a collaborative model that can evolve and augment existing data-sharing frameworks. It will develop standardized data definitions and metrics as well as best practices to ensure appropriate safeguards of highly sensitive geolocation and personal data of users shared between shared mobility operators and cities.

4open announces new special issue - Mathematical Models

4open, a multi-disciplinary Open Access journal, has announced the new special issue 'Mathematical Models', guest edited by Dr. Fernanda Ferreira and Dr. Flávio Ferreira. This special issue follows the 16th International Conference of Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics (ICNAAM 2018) where, as part of a special collaborative issue, 4open welcomed submissions developed from research presented at this conference.

McGraw-Hill and Alchemie to co-develop mobile AR learning tools for general chemistry courses

McGraw-Hill has announced a new collaboration with Alchemie, a Troy, Michigan-based educational technology startup, on a National Science Foundation grant to research the development of three-dimensional (3D) and augmented reality (AR) learning tools for teaching college-level general chemistry. Over the next year, a team of McGraw-Hill authors, along with McGraw-Hill instructional designers and product managers will work with the Alchemie team to co-develop and test mobile AR tools for the general chemistry curriculum.
