Springer Nature's iversity expands its product portfolio with new media format, Espresso Courses

Springer Nature's online learning platform iversity has expanded its product portfolio with a new format called Espresso Courses. These courses focus on 'point of need learning', and are designed to impart knowledge in a fast and efficient way. iversity's existing formats PRO courses and MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course), on the other hand, aim to support continuous learning. The first ten Espresso Courses cover a broad range of topics from agile methods and lean management to business communication and marketing to climate change.

European University Association releases its Second Big Deals Survey Report

The European University Association (EUA) has released its Second Big Deals Survey Report. This updated mapping of major scholarly publishing contracts in Europe comes at a time when the sector is undergoing substantial changes. The survey, conducted in 2017-2018, gathers data from 31 consortia covering an unprecedented 167 contracts with five major publishers: Elsevier, Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis, Wiley and American Chemical Society.

The American Chemical Society appoints Audrey M. Rogerson as its new VP, Development

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced that Dr. Audrey M. Rogerson will assume the new role of vice president (VP) of development, effective June 3, 2019. Rogerson brings to ACS 17 years' experience as a fundraiser and organisational strategist for nonprofits focused on scientific research and science education.

ACCUCOMS and NEJM expand representation agreement to include Middle East and Israel

ACCUCOMS has announced that The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) Group, publisher of premier medical resources for research, education and professional practice, has expanded its current representation agreement to include several Middle East countries and Israel. NEJM is focussing on growing its global reach, and is already working with ACCUCOMS in France, Germany, Italy, Turkey and Poland.
