The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) has appointed Wayne Sime as its new permanent Chief Executive. Wayne joined ALPSP as Interim Chief Executive in October 2018.

Submissions now open for 7th annual HIMSS-Elsevier APAC award

HIMSS Asia Pacific and Elsevier have announced the call for submissions for the 7th Annual Asia Pacific (APAC) HIMSS-Elsevier Digital Healthcare Award 2019. The 7th annual HIMSS-Elsevier APAC award is a significant initiative that was first incepted in Asia back in 2013 and now it is a global icon that spans across other regions including Europe, Middle East and Latin America. Elsevier has been its long standing key partner in recognising the best achievements and innovations in the region.

ASSET STEM Education announces innovative partnership with SAE International

ASSET STEM Education (ASSET), a provider of professional learning programs supporting educators in Pre-k through grade 12, has announced an innovative partnership with SAE International. The organisations join Universal Technical Institute to host the 'Engage in the Future: Engineering Workshop' for teachers, administrators and other educators to integrate engineering design and inquiry-based teaching into the classroom, while exploring hands-on learning materials.

The MIT Press announces creation of MIT Press Fund for Diverse Voices

The MIT Press has announced the creation of the MIT Press Fund for Diverse Voices. This fund will provide monetary support to acquire or develop book projects by and about women and other underrepresented groups in the STEM fields.

Portico's Stephanie Orphan to co-facilitate at OA seminar preceding SSP conference

Stephanie Orphan, Portico's Director of Publisher Relations, will co-facilitate Fact or Fiction? OASPA Lifts the Lid on Open Access Publishing, a seminar preceding the Society for Scholarly Publishing annual conference in San Diego. Scheduled to be held on May 29, this interactive seminar aims to deepen understanding of how open access publishing is approached by many different parties and tackle some enduring areas of open access concern and confusion.
