Clarivate Analytics' Executive Chairman Jerre Stead will expand his role and become CEO

Clarivate Analytics Plc, a global leader in providing trusted insights and analytics to accelerate the pace of innovation, has announced that Executive Chairman Jerre Stead has agreed to expand his role at the company and become Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective June 30. As CEO, Jerre will focus on accelerating growth and profitability for Clarivate. Jay Nadler will transition from his role as CEO and member of Clarivate's board of directors at the end of the second quarter and will serve as an advisor to the company through year-end.

ARL comments on RA21 proposal for access to licensed information resources

On April 17, 2019, the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) issued a call for public comments on a draft recommended practice for improving access to institutionally provided information resources. The draft is based on findings from the RA21: Resource Access for the 21st Century initiative and provides recommendations for using federated identity as an access model and for improving the federated authentication user experience. The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) has offered its comments on the proposal, based on input from member representatives and broader engagement within the community.

SAGE Publishing to publish the Journal of Orthopaedics, Trauma and Rehabilitation

Academic publisher SAGE Publishing has partnered with the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association (HKOA) and Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons (HKCOS) to publish the Journal of Orthopaedics, Trauma and Rehabilitation (JOTR). The open access (OA) journal will be published twice a year by SAGE, with each issue featuring articles that focus on the journal's areas of study and subjects related to orthopaedics.

Registrations for 2019 OASPA Conference on Open Access Scholarly Publishing now open

The Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) has announced that registrations are now open for the 2019 Conference on Open Access Scholarly Publishing, to be held from September 24 – 26, 2019, at the Royal Library in Copenhagen, Denmark. Now in its 11th year, the OASPA annual Conference on Open Access Scholarly Publishing is a major scholarly publishing conference that brings the open access community together to discuss new developments and innovations in scholarly publishing and unite in their shared goal to enable research around the world to be openly accessible.

Royal Society's digital publishing platform migrated to Atypon's Literatum platform

The Royal Society's digital publishing platform migrated from HighWire to the Literatum platform from Atypon at the end of 2018. The move enabled the Royal Society to host the same high quality content but do so in a way that improves the online experience for all users, with optimised viewing capabilities and other new features.
