Springer Nature and Project DEAL make considerable progress in negotiations for a groundbreaking model for publishing and reading scientific literature

Springer Nature and Project DEAL of the Alliance of Science Organisations in Germany have made considerable progress in their negotiations on a groundbreaking model for publishing and reading scientific literature, as the project's negotiation leader Prof. Dr. Horst Hippler, and Dagmar Laging, Vice President Institutional Sales Europe at Springer Nature both report. The joint objective of Springer Nature and Project DEAL is to bring negotiations to a successful conclusion by mid-2019 at the latest.

Panelists discuss economics and sustainability of OA publishing at OASPA webinar

OASPA recently hosted a timely and welcome discussion on the economic implications of publishing research open access, chaired by Board Member Dr Stuart Taylor. Dr Rupert Gatti (Fellow and Director of Studies in Economics, Trinity College, Cambridge, and Cofounder of Open Book Publishers), Liz Ferguson (Vice President, Editorial Development, Wiley) and Claudio Aspesi (independent consultant) joined OASPA for the webinar to discuss the economics and sustainability of open access publishing. OCLC Research and euroCRIS publish report on international research information management practices

OCLC Research and euroCRIS, the international organisation for research information, have published a joint research report, Practices and Patterns in Research Information Management: Findings from a Global Survey, which examines how research institutions worldwide are applying research information management (RIM) practices. RIM is the aggregation, curation, and utilisation of information about research and is emerging as an area of increasing interest and relevance in many university libraries.
