Russian scientists gain access to Springer Nature content through national license agreement

Open research publisher Springer Nature and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) have signed a major agreement that will benefit researchers, post docs and students based at Russian research institutions. As of July 2018, Russian institutions now have access to all Springer journals, Nature and all Nature-branded journals including new launches, and the Academic journals on nature.com.

NISO releases draft revised Transfer Code of Practice for public comment

The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) has announced the release of a draft revision to the Transfer Code of Practice, a NISO Recommended Practice, for public comment. Transfer contains guidelines to help publishers ensure that journal content that is transferred between parties remains easily accessible to librarians and readers and that the transfer process occurs with minimum disruption to all stakeholders.
