Macmillan Learning and Scientific American relocate STEM Education Summit to Austin

Macmillan Learning, an educational solutions and insights provider and Scientific American have elected to move their annual STEM Education Summit to Austin from its home in NYC. The move is in recognition of Austin's role as an incubator for groundbreaking education technology, and the importance of Texas in setting national standards for education.

Frontiers in Forests and Global Change has announced the launch of three new Specialty Sections. The new sections: Forest Soils led by Stephan Hättenschwiler and Frank Hagedorn; Forest Hydrology led by Steven McNulty and Kevin McGuire; and Forest Disturbance led by John Healey and Aaron Shiels are now open for submissions.

American Society of Parasitologists relaunches Journal of Parasitology with eliminated page charges

The American Society of Parasitologists (ASP) has eliminated page charges for members publishing in the society's journal, The Journal of Parasitology (JP). Beginning in January 2019, ASP will relaunch the journal for its second century of publication with a complete revision of its policies, charges, and distribution. 2019 will also bring a new publishing workflow that features continuous online publication and a reduction in the number of printed issues.

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) has released Learning Analytics, SPEC Kit 360, which examines current practices, policies, and ethical issues around libraries and learning analytics.
