Academic publisher Taylor & Francis has entered into an agreement with PubGrade GmbH to adopt its integrated advertising platform: PubGrade for Publishers. PubGrade's platform-as-a-service solution: PubGrade for Publishers provides the Journals division of Taylor and Francis with an integrated advertising platform that enables the commercial Sales team to offer their clients cutting-edge digital advertising solutions.

Emerald acquires Archnet-IJAR: International Journal of Architectural Research

Academic publisher Emerald has acquired Archnet-IJAR: International Journal of Architectural Research, a journal which includes empirical research papers, analytical case studies, and high-quality position papers that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in architecture and urbanism. The new acquisition complements Emerald's existing portfolio of journals in Property Management and Built Environment, introduces new areas in architectural and design research, while also expanding coverage in areas such as urban design, urban planning, and cities and sustainable urbanism.

BMJ to publish first issue of General Psychiatry

Healthcare knowledge provider BMJ will publish the first issue of General Psychiatry, previously known as Shanghai Archives of Psychiatry. Working in partnership with Shanghai Medical Health Centre (SMHC), the journal is dedicated to publishing high quality, peer reviewed articles for mental health professionals, whilst offering free publication for authors.

Hindawi launches new peer review platform built on open-source PubSweet framework

Hindawi Limited has announced the launch of a new peer review platform built using the Collaborative Knowledge Foundation's (Coko) open source PubSweet framework. This is the first complete open-source peer review system to come out of the Coko community, a group of like-minded organisations, including eLife, the European Bioinformatics Institute, and the University of California Press, keen on working collaboratively towards the advancement of openness in scholarly communications software.
