SAGE begins 2019 with 6 awards

Academic publisher SAGE Publishing has received a Modern Library Award (MLA) for SAGE Video, and five Choice Outstanding Academic Title Awards for SAGE Research Methods, The SAGE Encyclopedia of Abnormal and Clinical Psychology, CBT for Beginners, CQ Press Voting and Elections Collection, and Statistics with R: A Beginner's Guide. The MLAs recognise elite products and services for the library community. Choice's annual Outstanding Academic Titles list honours the best in reviewed scholarly titles– approximately ten percent of some 6,000 works.

AIP Publishing appoints Prof. Jan Philip Solovej as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Mathematical Physics

AIP Publishing (AIPP), a not-for-profit scholarly publisher in the physical sciences, has announced that Professor Jan Philip Solovej, University of Copenhagen, has taken the reigns as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Mathematical Physics (JMP), a peer-reviewed journal publishing original research and reviews that connect the application of mathematics to problems in physics. Prof. Solovej is currently Professor of Mathematics at the University of Copenhagen, and the Centre Leader of the Villum Centre of Excellence for the Mathematics of Quantum Theory (QMATH).

Frontiers and Lancaster University form OA publishing agreement

Frontiers and the Lancaster University have established an institutional membership agreement for open access publishing. Lancaster University supports its researchers in making their research more widely available. As part of this support, Lancaster University has entered into an institutional agreement with Frontiers. Under the terms of this agreement, eligible authors from Lancaster University may publish in any Frontiers journal at no cost to the author.

CDL appoints Alainna Wrigley as Publication Management System Coordinator

The California Digital Library (CDL) has announced that Alainna Wrigley will join the Publishing & Special Collections Group as the Publication Management System Coordinator, effective January 15, 2019. Alainna will be the product and service owner of the UC Publication Management System, a system-wide implementation of Symplectic Elements in support of UC's Open Access policies.
